Threads is close enough to Instagram — same company, same login, often the same audience — that keeping both active can feel like it should be automatic. It can be, once you set up a standing workflow instead of manually cross-posting each new Instagram post yourself.
Setting up the ongoing sync
- Connect both accounts — your Instagram Business or Creator account and your Threads account — from the Accounts page in OneUp.
- Open the Crossposting menu from the dropdown next to Create a post, and click Add Workflow.
- Set Instagram as your source account.
- Set Threads as your destination.
- Choose your content types — decide whether every post format (feed posts, Reels, carousels) should auto-publish to Threads, or just certain types.
- Launch the workflow. From this point on, every new Instagram post automatically publishes to Threads without you doing anything extra.
Why this particular pairing is worth automating
