How to Automatically Sync New X Posts to Your Other Social Accounts (Using Grok)

Most of OneUp's crossposting sources — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok — connect directly inside OneUp's own Crossposting menu. X doesn't work that way. Because of how X's API is structured, syncing content from X requires going through Grok as a connector first. Here's how to set that up for ongoing, automatic syncing.

Why X needs a different setup

OneUp's standard Crossposting workflow builder supports Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok as source accounts directly. X isn't included in that list — instead, Grok acts as the bridge: it watches your X account for new posts and pushes them into OneUp, which then publishes them to your other connected accounts.

What You'll Need

1. A OneUp account with your target destination accounts already connected
2. Your OneUp API Key
3. Access to Grok

Step 1: Get Your OneUp API Key

1. Log into OneUp and go to the Accounts page to confirm your destination accounts are connected.
2. Click the gear dropdown menu and select API and MCP.
3. Copy your API key.

Step 2: Connect OneUp to Grok via MCP Connector

1. Open Grok and go to the Plugins section.
2. Click New Connector, then Add a custom connector.
3. Name it (e.g., OneUp).
4. For the Server URL, grab the MCP connector URL from OneUp's API documentation.
5. Paste the URL, replacing the placeholder text with your actual API key.
6. Click Add Connector.

Step 3: Set Up Your Automation Prompt

Once connected, tell Grok what you want synced — for example, prompt it to sync your X account's posts to your Instagram, Facebook, or other connected accounts.

Step 4: Test and Verify

1. Publish a test post (with an image or video) on X.
2. In Grok, check the Automations tab for your active setup.
3. Automations check for new posts every hour by default — click Run Now to trigger an immediate test instead of waiting.
4. Confirm in OneUp that the post was scheduled or published to your destination accounts.
