Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok can all connect to your social media accounts now — not through a browser extension or copy-pasting drafts, but through MCP, a protocol that lets an AI assistant call tools directly. Here's how each connection works with OneUp specifically.
The shared foundation: OneUp's MCP server
All three connections rely on the same underlying piece: OneUp's MCP server, authenticated with an API key generated from your OneUp account (gear icon → API and MCP). Each AI tool connects to that same server slightly differently, based on how that platform handles custom connectors.
Connecting Claude
- Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors.
- Click Add Custom Connector.
- Find the OneUp MCP setup endpoint in the API documentation, and append your API key to the connector URL as instructed.
- Save — OneUp now appears as an active connector, ready to draft, schedule, and publish from a chat prompt.
Connecting ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT and go to the Plugins menu.
- Create a new custom plugin and name it (e.g.,
OneUp). - Grab OneUp's MCP connector URL from the API docs (under ChatGPT Setup) and paste it into the plugin config, leaving authentication set to OAuth.
- Sign in on the plugin popup, generate your OneUp API key from a separate tab, paste it in, and authorize.
- In Installed Plugins, set permissions to Allow all actions so ChatGPT doesn't block scheduling workflows mid-conversation.
Connecting Grok
- Open Grok and go to Plugins → New Connector → Add a custom connector.
- Name it, and for the Server URL, use OneUp's MCP connector URL with your API key appended.
- Grok connects and can now be prompted to sync content, schedule posts, or run recurring automations — this is also the specific path required if you want X (Twitter) content flowing into OneUp, since X isn't a source OneUp's own dashboard supports directly.
What you can actually do once connected
Regardless of which assistant you're using, the same core capabilities are available: drafting and scheduling posts, publishing across multiple platforms, fetching analytics, and replying to comments — all triggered by a prompt instead of clicking through a dashboard.
