Engagement numbers live on the original post and stay there. What you _can_ do is identify the content that already proved itself and get more mileage out of it on a new platform, which is usually what people actually mean when they talk about not "losing" their best content.

## The real goal: don't let proven content sit unused

If a post performed well once, there's a good chance the idea, format, or hook behind it will work again somewhere else. Instead of guessing what a new platform's audience wants, you can start with the content you already know resonates — your highest-performing posts — rather than posting blind.

## How to identify and move your best-performing content

1. **Review your analytics** — in OneUp, pull performance data for the account you're moving content from, sorted by whatever metric matters most to you (engagement rate, reach, saves, etc.).
2. **Shortlist your top performers** rather than crossposting your entire history — a smaller, curated set of proven content usually works better than everything at once.
3. **Connect your source and destination accounts** from the **Accounts** page.
4. **Open the Crossposting menu** from the dropdown next to **Create a post**, and set up a workflow between the two.
5. **Filter or manually select** which posts get included, if your workflow supports scoping to specific content rather than your full history.
6. **Set the pacing and launch the workflow.** Your best content republishes to the new platform on the schedule you set.

## What actually carries over vs. what doesn't

- **Carries over:** captions, images, video, hashtags (where applicable)
- **Doesn't carry over:** the original post's likes, comments, views, or engagement history — the new post starts at zero and earns its own engagement independently
