Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Set Up the Custom Plugin in ChatGPT
Open ChatGPT and navigate to the Plugins menu.
Click the + icon to create a new custom plugin.
Name your plugin (e.g.,
OneUp).
Step 2: Grab the OneUp MCP Connector URL
Log in to your OneUp account.
Open the API Docs and navigate to the OneUp MCP Connector setup page (under ChatGPT Setup).
Copy the setup URL provided in the documentation.
Paste the URL into your ChatGPT plugin configuration, leave authentication set to OAuth, and click Create.
Step 3: Link Your OneUp API Key
Click Sign In on the newly created plugin popup.
In a separate tab, go to your OneUp dashboard, click the Gear icon in the dropdown menu, and select API and MCP.
Click Generate API Key and copy the resulting key.
Return to the authentication screen, paste your API key, and click Authorize. The tab will automatically close once the connection succeeds.
Step 4: Adjust Plugin Permissions
To ensure seamless execution when ChatGPT posts on your behalf:
Go to Installed Plugins inside ChatGPT and locate your OneUp plugin.
Verify that it displays Connected.
Open Permissions and set the permission level to Allow all actions (this prevents ChatGPT from blocking scheduling workflows).
Step 5: Draft and Schedule Posts via Prompt
Once connected, you can schedule posts natively through the chat window!
Example Prompt:
"Create a Facebook post with the caption 'Hello' to my testing Facebook page under the [Category Name] category for 3:00 PM today."
ChatGPT will trigger the OneUp connector and confirm once the post has been scheduled successfully. You can verify the post directly in your OneUp Calendar or account dashboard.
