X requires a different setup than OneUp's other platforms for one specific reason: pulling data _from_ X — including comments — has to go through Grok as a connector, rather than OneUp's dashboard connecting to X directly. Once that connection exists, though, Grok can handle comment replies on X the same way it handles content syncing.

## Why X needs Grok specifically

OneUp's other platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and the rest) connect and expose comments directly through OneUp's own Social Inbox and API. X's API access works differently, which is why Grok — with its native X integration — acts as the bridge for both content and comment data moving from X into OneUp.

## Setting up the connection

1. Get your OneUp API key from the gear icon → **API and MCP**.
2. In Grok, go to **Plugins → New Connector → Add a custom connector**.
3. Use OneUp's MCP connector URL from the API documentation, with your API key appended.
4. Confirm the connector is active.

## Prompting Grok to handle X replies

> "Check my X account for new comments and mentions from the last hour. Draft a reply for each one, and flag anything that needs my personal attention instead of an automated response."

## Extending this beyond X

Once Grok is connected to OneUp, the same reply-drafting capability isn't limited to X — Grok can be prompted to check and draft replies for comments on any platform OneUp supports, using the same MCP connection. The X-specific requirement is only about how comment _data_ gets pulled in the first place; once it's in OneUp, replying works the same way regardless of platform.

## A practical cadence for automation

Grok's automations check on a schedule (hourly by default, with a manual **Run Now** option in the Automations tab) rather than reacting instantly to every new comment — which works well for reply drafting, since batching a handful of comments together for review is usually more manageable than responding to each one as it lands in real time.

## Keep a human in the loop early on

As with any comment automation, it's worth having Grok draft replies for your review rather than auto-posting everything at first, until you've confirmed the tone and judgment calls consistently match what you'd write yourself.
