Postiz and OneUp are both social media schedulers with an API and an MCP server, but they're built around different ideas. Postiz is open source and can be self-hosted. OneUp is a hosted product. Here's how they compare, including where Postiz has the edge.
We make OneUp. We've kept this to facts we could verify and noted where Postiz is stronger, but check each tool's own site for current details.
The short version
- Choose Postiz if open source, self-hosting, or the widest possible network list matters most.
- Choose OneUp if you want a managed tool with crossposting, approvals, a social inbox, and automation, and don't want to run servers.
Hosting
Postiz is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. You can self-host it for free, or use its hosted cloud. Self-hosting means running your own server (it uses PostgreSQL, Redis, and a workflow engine) and registering your own developer apps with each social network. Postiz notes that approvals from some networks, like Meta and YouTube, can take a long time.
OneUp is hosted only. There's nothing to install, and OneUp manages the connections to the networks.
Pricing
Postiz Cloud is priced by channel count. As of this writing, the monthly plans list at $29 for 5 channels (no team members), $39 for 10 channels, $49 for 30, and $99 for 100, with discounts for annual billing and a 7-day trial. Self-hosting has no license fee, but you cover the infrastructure and your own time.
OneUp has a 7-day free trial and no permanent free plan. Plans are based on the number of social accounts you connect. See OneUp's pricing page for current plans.
Networks
Postiz lists 30+ platforms, the broader list of the two.
OneUp covers a dozen-plus networks: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, Threads, Bluesky, Discord, Reddit, and Google Business Profile. If you need a niche network, confirm it's supported before you commit to either tool.
Automation and AI
Postiz includes AI tools (its plans include AI image and video credits), repeated posts, webhooks, and automation.
OneUp includes crossposting workflows, repeating posts, bulk upload from CSV, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Google Sheets, AI caption generation, and DM and comment automation for Instagram and Facebook.
Teams and clients
Postiz includes unlimited team members from its Team plan upward.
OneUp has post approvals that can include clients who aren't OneUp users, view-only calendar links, categories for organizing accounts by client, and white-labeled analytics reports you can download or email on a schedule.
Developer access
Both offer an API and an MCP server.
Postiz also ships a CLI with JSON output.
OneUp has a REST API and an MCP server, and it can be connected to terminal coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
